Alison

Alison: A drawn thread and embroidered yoke dress Class Title: Alison

Area of Study: Embroidery & Construction
Class Hours: 12
Class Type: Project
Skill Level: Intermediate & Advanced

This dress is designed to give each student embroidery and construction options that challenge their ability. Simplified skills such as basic yoke dress construction will be demonstrated and basic embroidery stitches will be practiced. If you are comfortable with those skills why not challenge yourself and add techniques like french seaming or piping along the armholes and pointed yoke? Can you master granito flowers with eyelet centers, hemstitched bars or padded satin stitched leaves? Have you ever stitched a buttonhole by hand? Mix and match and the choices are yours!

Class time will allow each student plenty of time to practice all of the embroidery stitches above on practice fabric or your dress fabric if you prefer. Each construction challenge will be demonstrated so there is no need to haul your sewing machine to class. You will leave class with the understanding of all the elements needed to create this button- down-the-back basic yoke dress.

This dress is available in a 6 month size only.
