An eyelet is defined as an embroidered hole; an opening in fabric, usually round, where the edges have been finished off with some method of stitching. Usually an overcast or buttonhole stitch finish is used. Eyelets became popular in 18th and 19th century clothing and are the basis for most white on white embroidery; they are extensively used in Broderie Anglaise, Madeira embroidery and Venetian embroidery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This 3 hour class includes detailed step-by-step instructions supplemented by numerous pictures or scans to help you master: miniature eyelets, traditional eyelets, cut eyelets, continuous eyelets, shaded eyelets and square eyelets. Stitching a sample of each will help your personal notebook grow with each completed eyelet!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
