This simple linen dress sizes 2,3 or 4 becomes a palette for experimentation.
During our 9 hours of class we will:
- Discuss some basic design principles and how to apply them using a few simple exercises.
- Perform a few basic experiments to see how color plays a role in your design
- Learn basic hemstitching, hemstitching along the fold, babywave hemstitching, shadow hemstitching and how to hemstitch lace insertion.
- You will create your own yoke and skirt embroidery design using the skills learned above (or use the one provided).
The dress sports shoulder straps that button to the back yoke. The dress is piped (optional) and fully lined. The front yoke and skirt hem areas offer the perfect opportunity to try your hand at creating a design all your own.
You will have a color choice of kit fabrics:
- white dress fabric, mint piping fabric and 5 different colored threads;
- light pink or light blue dress fabric, white piping fabric and white thread
This is a hand class. All construction will be completed at home.
