Learn basic drawn thread techniques including hemstitch, ladder hemstitch, four-sided stitch and baby wave stitch. Once you discover how easy it is to work these timeless stitches on practice fabric, we will use Ulster linen to create your heirloom keepsake. We will discuss how various threads, fabrics and spacing produce different results from the ones we create in class. Samples using these stitches will be displayed to nurture your create juices! This easy project will have your special someone knowing you care enough to create only the very best just for them.

Complete Kit Contents: 12″ x 18″ piece 1200 Ulster Linen, 12″ x 18″ piece silky batiste, 1 skein 6-strand DMC embroidery floss, 1 spool DMC 50 wt. embroidery thread, #10 sharp needles, #26 tapestry needles, 30″ silk-satin ribbon 5/8″ width, 1/2″ (or slightly less) buttons, bonnet pattern and handout

6″ clear ruler or sewing gauge, used sewing machine needles, tweezers (optional for pulling threads), small embroidery scissors with a small sharp curved point or curved point cuticle scissors, additional lighting recommended, magnification (required)
