This crisp little dress is an 18″ doll version of Molly – A Drawn Thread Yoke Dress. Made from the finest dress linen, this knee length “Dolly Molly” has a piped peter pan collar and puff sleeves. The front bodice, hem and sleeve areas are dressed up with hemstitched tucks and a decorative colored thread hemstitching combinations – all parts of the lessons we will learn during class time.
Stitches mastered in this fun project include: hemstitching, hemstitching along a fold (this is how the tucks are created), shadow hemstitching and blanket stitch embellishments. These techniques can be mastered using practice cloth or if you feel confident in your stitching abilities, you can start right off stitching on your dress fabrics.
All of the dress construction will be completed at home. Several detailed instructions are enclosed to help aid a student of any sewing level complete this project.
Complete Kit Contents: Ulster linens, practice fabric, DMC 50 wt. embroidery threads, stranded embroidery floss, needles, Mother of Pearl buttons, cording (for piping), snaps, dress pattern, class handout
Class Supplies: 6″ clear ruler, used sewing machine needles, small embroidery scissors with a small sharp curved point, fine line marking pen, colored basting thread, 4″ Susan Bates embroidery hoop, lighting and extension cord (required), magnification (required)
Home Supplies: Sewing machine capable of zigzag stitching, ¼” foot (optional), piping foot (optional), empty bobbin, #60 or #65 universal machine needle, rotary mat, ruler and cutter
