Area of Study: Embroidery Class Hours: 3 Class Type: Project Skill Level: All
These little wonders are made with pima broadcloth and are embellished with flowing shadow work bows
and enchanting flowers.
Phyllis will demonstrate the possibilities that shadow work adds to any embroidered piece. Students will
learn multiple ways to approach shadow work. After exploring this, each student will try another way of
stitching so they will learn new techniques that they can add to their personal repertoire! Stem and outline
stitching will be reviewed and students will learn to create simple bullion buds that are sprinkled throughout
this sandal. This beautifully embroidered sandal is the perfect project for learning simple basics, but the end
result is anything but ordinary with clusters of flowers and bouquets of bows for dancing feet.
This is an embroidery class only - all construction will be completed at home.
