Area of Study: Embroidery (Hand) Class Hours: 6 Class Type: Project Skill Level: All skill levels are welcome. Basic embroidery skills are helpful. Dress construction (home) is intermediate to advanced.
This beautifully embellished little girl's dress (size 2, 3 or 4) is designed to enrich your sewing knowledge with a few basic
embroidery stitches as well as challenge your faggoting skills. You will take ready-made spaghetti tubing and use it to create scalloped
shapes to enhance the yoke, collar and sleeve areas of this design. You will also learn how to handle the construction challenges shaping
presents to you.
Class time will allow you plenty of time to practice the following embroidery stitches:
Granitos
Padded satin stitch
Stem/Outline stitches
Basic faggoting insertion stitch
You may choose to start stitching directly on your dress yoke or work with a piece of practice fabric. After all stitches have been
mastered, "tube" shaping is your final class challenge.
This is a hand class only. Construction details will be reviewed before leaving class with time for questions and answers.
All construction will be completed at home.
